Here's what each level looks like in practice.

Core

Ongoing financial clarity, so you always know if you're making money, and why.

What's Included

  • Books stay current and accurate So you can trust the numbers when something important comes up, and you're never going in blind.
  • Plain-language explanation of what the numbers mean So you do not have to translate accounting into decisions yourself. You get a direct read on what's happening and what it means for the business.
  • Financial support when real decisions come up So when a decision about pricing, hiring, or a major commitment comes up, you see the financial impact before you commit.
  • Monthly review of performance and trends So issues get caught while they are still small, and you are not looking at a surprise at the end of the quarter.
  • Direct coordination with your CPA, banker, and other outside parties Most accountants produce the document and hand it to you. This works differently — when your CPA needs context during tax season, when a banker has questions about your financials, or when you're exploring financing and need someone who can speak to the numbers directly, that coordination is handled. You're not sitting in the middle of conversations that don't require you.
Also Included

Built into the engagement from the start.

  • Initial Business Orientation Session A dedicated session to map how your business actually works — revenue streams, cost structure, decision-making, and where the financial picture is unclear. This establishes the baseline everything else builds on.
  • Early Momentum Summary At the 60–90 day mark, a summary of what's been clarified, what's been caught, and what the financial picture looks like now. For most clients, this is the first time they've had a clear view of where they actually stand.
  • Owner Compensation Clarity Review A clear picture of what you're taking out of the business and what that represents relative to actual margins and cash flow — so decisions about owner compensation are based on real numbers, not habit.
  • Mid-Year Directional Check-In A mid-year conversation: how the first half tracked, what's shifted, and what to watch for in the second half. The goal is to start the back half with intention, not just momentum.
  • Year-End Direction Conversation A forward-looking conversation about what the year revealed and what it means for how next year starts. What should carry forward, what should change, and what the numbers are telling you heading in.

Premium

Everything in Core, plus active use of the numbers to direct the business.

How Premium Works

Premium is organized around a documented annual plan. Each component connects back to that plan — building it, tracking against it, adjusting it, and stress-testing decisions before they affect it.

  1. Integrated Annual Planning Framework Built at the start of each year — documented revenue targets, margin goals, and major commitments. This is the anchor everything else runs against.
  2. Monthly Plan vs. Actual Review Track performance against the plan every month. Know whether you're ahead or behind, and why, before it affects cash.
  3. Quarterly Strategy Sessions — 4x/year, required Step back from operations and reassess the plan. Adjust direction with documented outputs. Not optional check-ins — mandatory recalibration.
  4. Financial Modeling Stress-test major decisions against the plan before committing — hires, pricing changes, capacity investments.
  5. Ongoing Decision Support All decision support operates within the context of the plan, not in isolation from it.

What's Included in Detail

  • Profitability tracking by job, project, or service line So you know what is actually making money, and what is running at thin or negative margins without you realizing it. This turns a revenue number into something you can actually manage.
  • 90-180 day forward cash visibility So you are making decisions based on what is coming in and going out over the next several months, not just what is sitting in the account today. Maintained and updated on an ongoing basis.
  • Monthly review of actual results versus your annual plan So you're not just observing what happened — you're measuring it against what you committed to at the start of the year. That's a different kind of accountability, and it's what makes the planning process mean something.
  • Financial modeling for major decisions — hires, pricing changes, capacity investments, and significant commitments So when a major decision comes up, you're not working from instinct — you're looking at modeled scenarios with your actual numbers. What does this hire cost fully loaded? What happens to margin if you raise prices 8%? Those questions get answered before you commit.
  • Four mandatory quarterly strategy sessions Four times a year, you step back from operations and look at where the business is going. These are a required part of the Premium engagement — not optional check-ins. Assumptions get reassessed, direction gets confirmed or adjusted, and the next quarter starts with intention.
Also Included

In addition to the Core bonus items, Premium includes a layer of structured documentation that builds over time.

  • Formal Mid-Year Recalibration A formal reassessment of whether the annual assumptions still hold and what adjustments are warranted for the second half — tied to your maintained projections, with documented outputs.
  • Decision Archive Summary An annual summary of the major financial decisions made during the year — what they were based on, and what the outcomes looked like. Useful for pattern recognition and outside advisor conversations.
  • Major-Event Reset Modeling When something significant changes — a key employee leaves, a large contract ends, an unexpected opportunity surfaces — the financial picture gets re-modeled so you're not making decisions against a projection that no longer applies.
  • Business Context File A living record of how the business operates financially — cost structure, margin baselines, key assumptions, compensation logic, decision history. It exists so the financial picture isn't locked in anyone's head, including mine.

This is a working relationship, not a long-term lock-in.

Month-to-month. No long-term contract. If you're on Premium and need to scale back, you can move to Core at any time with notice.

If you complete onboarding, show up to the review conversations, and engage with the process — and after 90 days you genuinely don't believe this is working — tell me. I'm not going to leave you in a worse position than when you started. If it's not the right fit, the investment converts into continued bookkeeping support, so you're not left with nothing.

There's no contract holding you here. You stay because it's working — and that's the only reason I want you to.

Ready to find out if this is the right fit?
